Fornata works out pizza dough and walks you through the mix. If something does not add up, or the dough behaves in a way the app did not predict, write to fornata@cyberninja.digital and we will work it out.
It helps to mention your iPhone model, the iOS version and which pizza you were making.
Common questions
Why does the app ask for so little yeast?
Because it works the amount out from your plan, not from habit. Warmth sets the pace: an hour at 26 °C counts as 1 h 47 min at 20 °C, and an hour in the fridge at 4 °C as only 9 min. A dough that rests a whole day at room temperature needs very little. When the amount is too small for kitchen scales, the step tells you how to dissolve it in water and weigh out part of the solution.
The dough rose earlier or later than the plan said.
That happens: the speed depends on the kitchen temperature, the flour and how fresh the yeast is. Go by the dough, not the clock: a ball is ready when it has roughly doubled and springs back slowly. On the Dough tab, tap the temperature and enter the one you really have, and the forecast is recalculated. In cooking mode, “−15 min” and “+15 min” on a waiting step shorten or lengthen it.
Reminders do not arrive.
Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings, under Fornata, then Notifications. In the app, open More and check that “Notifications” is on. A Focus mode can also hold them back.
I have a different oven or mixer.
Open More and set “How you mix” and “What you bake in”. The oven decides the bake time, the preheat step and the advice; the mixer decides the water temperature, because a machine warms the dough and the app allows for it.
I want to see baker’s percentages.
Open More and turn on “Detailed mode”. The shopping list then shows baker’s percentages and the flour strength W you need instead of flour brands. The calculation itself does not change.
My batches are gone after a reinstall, or missing on my other iPhone.
Fornata keeps your batches and settings in your own iCloud, so they follow you to another iPhone and survive a reinstall. Two things have to be true: “Sync with iCloud” is on under More (it is, unless you switched it off), and the iPhone is signed in to iCloud (iOS Settings, your name at the top). None of it is sent to us: the copy lives in your Apple Account, and switching sync off deletes it.
How do I change the language of the app?
Fornata speaks English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish and Czech. It follows the language of your iPhone and falls back to English. To change it for Fornata alone, open iOS Settings, then Fornata, then Language.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account and choose Fornata.
