Privacy policy
Fornata collects nothing about you. It works out pizza dough on your iPhone, and your batches and settings never reach us. All the app sends us is one anonymous note that it has been installed.
Who is responsible
The app and this website are made by CyberNinja.Digital. The controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is DAR ENTERPRISE P.S.A. For anything about this policy, write to fornata@cyberninja.digital.
What stays on your iPhone
The app keeps these in its own storage on your device:
- your settings under More: “How you mix”, “What you bake in”, “Kitchen temperature”, “Temperature scale”, “Which yeast you use”, the reminders and “Detailed mode”;
- the batch you are making now;
- the history of past batches with your ratings and notes.
None of it reaches us. You can delete batches in History; deleting the app deletes everything it stored on the device.
Your own iCloud
The switch “Sync with iCloud” under More is on from the start. It mirrors the same data to the iCloud key-value storage of your Apple Account, so your batches follow you to your other iPhones and survive a reinstall. If the iPhone is not signed in to iCloud, none of it leaves the device.
Apple stores and processes that copy under your Apple Account and Apple’s privacy policy. We have no access to it. Switching “Sync with iCloud” off deletes the copy from iCloud.
Reminders and the Live Activity
If you allow notifications, the app schedules the reminders for each stage of the dough on your iPhone. The countdown on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island is also created on the device. None of this is sent anywhere. You can withdraw the permission at any time in iOS Settings, under Fornata.
What the app sends us
The first time you open Fornata after installing it, the app sends us one short note to say so. The note holds four things: the app version, the language the app is shown in, the region set on your iPhone (such as Germany) and whether the app came from the App Store or from TestFlight. If there is no connection at that moment, the app tries again the next time you open it. Once the note has arrived, the app sends us nothing more.
The note contains no name, email address or Apple Account, no device or advertising identifier, no location and nothing about your batches or settings. Like any request on the internet, it arrives from your IP address; we do not store that address. Nothing in the note can be linked to you or to your iPhone.
The note goes to our own system, run by CyberNinja.Digital on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers in the United States. We use it only to count installations by country and language. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing where the app is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
What there is none of
- no account and no sign-up;
- no tracking and no advertising, and no third-party analytics or advertising code;
- no server of ours behind the app’s features: they all work offline, and the iCloud copy goes only to Apple;
- no access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera.
If you have chosen in iOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports and usage figures. That choice is yours and is made in iOS Settings, under Privacy & Security, Analytics & Improvements, not in the app.
Buying the app
Fornata is bought once on the App Store. Apple handles the payment and refunds; your card details and Apple Account never reach us. Apple reports sales to us only as totals, such as how many copies were sold in which country. There are no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
Children
The app has no accounts and collects no personal data from anyone, so it collects none from children either.
This website
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking. Its fonts and images are served from the site itself, not from third parties.
The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a Google service. To deliver the pages and keep them secure, Google processes technical data of each request, such as your IP address, the page asked for and your browser type, under Google’s privacy policy. We do not use this data to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you, and delete them when they are no longer needed for that.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to complain to a data protection authority.
The data in the app is already in your hands: delete batches in History, switch off “Sync with iCloud”, or delete the app. The install note holds nothing that points to you, so we cannot find or delete yours. For anything else, such as an email you sent us, write to fornata@cyberninja.digital.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a new date.
